About the PE department
The PE department at De La Salle boast excellent facilities for PE which include:
Boys in Years 8-10 are timetabled for 90 minutes of PE every week. On top of this, there are opportunities to be involved in lunchtime and after-school activities. In Year 11 boys may choose to study GCSE PE which has proved to be extremely popular. After completing their GCSE studies, many pupils continue to study PE at AS and A2 level. We are pleased to be able to offer a BTEC in Sport to Year 13 pupils from September 2012.

- A fully equipped fitness suite including cardiovascular equipment, resistance machines and free weights

Policy Statement:
The aim of the PE department is to provide a broad and balanced programme and to stimulate an interest in physical activity both in and outside school. Physical fitness in increasingly relevant in today's society and we hope that all pupils develop physically as a result of their participation in a range of activities.
As well as physical development, taking part in PE provides an opportunity for pupils to develop socially through working with others, build their self-esteem by trying and succeeding in new activities and finally, build a strong character and a sense of sportsmanship and fair play through taking part in the right 'spirit.'
